Brazilians for Assyriska!
After much speculation, today it has come true that Assyriska has strengthened itself with two Brazilians. Alex, 25 years old plays left back and Dinho, 23 years old will play forward.
Finally the transfer was done, after much delay with improper papers and the club?s transition period. Assyriska?s management has worked long and hard to get this done.
We are hugely relieved that this went through. We were never really nervous but the negotiations with the club and the players took little longer time than we estimated.
We have followed the players for two weeks and we have seen both in training and games. They are good and very special players, but since is it always a question of how well they will adapt themselves on and off the football field, club says the manager Aydin Aho.
We feel the pieces of the puzzle have been completed and our aim is to always strengthen ourselves and hopefully reach the top league next year. Alex connected with the team already in Antalya the last week and Dinho flew in today (Monday):
We all have been stressed greatly this weekend, Dinho should have landed yesterday (Sunday) but Portuguese police at the airport in Lisbon held him up. When they finished checking all the papers, he missed his flight Stockholm. But we found another one on Monday and we had time to meet him at the association exactly when he got in.
Actually we have worked for a month on getting them. I want to emphasize that they do not come to us fit and ready, we must have patience and give them time to adapt themselves, says Aydin
Alex and Dinho become the first Brazilian players ever in Assyriska. Alex is described as an offensive left back with good technical skills and passing ability. He will evidently be extremely offensive and can also play higher up on the left edge.
Dinho began his career as midfielder but for the last year has played as forward, he is powerful in his playing style and has great dribbling and shooting skills. The previous season he scored 12 goals in 20 games. This year 2 goals in 4 games. Both play in the regional first league in Bella Horizonte.
