Trojans

I have one (more maybe) and it's annoying me - it keeps redirecting my google searches.  I'm running a scan via Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, so hopefully it will find the problem and remove it.  Anyone else ever have this problem, and successfully deal with it?

I use Spybot.  I never get them anymore because I only use bittorent for downloading.

Plus, you almost always have to do some manual tweaking to remove trojans.

Get spyware doctor, get rid of it ASAP or it just infects your comp with more annoying trojans.

I had one before when i tried downloaded a cracked version of bearshare, you get them off bodgey sites usually porn shifty porn sites.

Spyware Doctor is good, but do not get it from their official website. You can get the "Starter's Version" for free from the Google Pack website. In addition, you can use S.D. to update the definitions.

As for trojans, there is a trial-version of "trojan Remover," which it gets the job done. The only problem that it's just a trial version, so you have a certain day-limit on using it.

Herro, are u still having trouble with your Trojans? let me know So I can show you in detials how u can rid of them!!!

one thing I can tell you that your average Anti Virus program or Malwarebytes will not be able to do anything because the New Trojans ( they end up with DLL extentions and are infected in Win32) are programmed to re-infect itself into your pc even after u delete them and re-start.....

The first thing u need to find out is What exactly you are infected with!!!

Nah at the moment i'm fine, I seem to have gotten rid of them, but I welcome any suggestions

Well, many of these Trojans remain hidden somewhere on your PC, even if it seems that the problem has been Fixed. The First thing you need to do is to Work in Safe Mood, and doing a couple of Steps such as turning off system restore & also Hidden Files....

it is Crucial that you work offline when cleaning up your PC. Current Trojans that hijack your PC can not get removed when your doing a clean up online....

When that's done, then u need to run 3 or 4 good programs ( 1 anti Virus, 1 spyware, 1 Adware & another one that mixes all )

Every Virus or Trojan is created differently, so some Programs might work & others might not....

What is your current Anti Virus program?

The best tool that I have and use is a program called " Hijackthis ".. it is only recommended for Advanced users but it is such a Powerful Program because it scans all your PC's and tells you Exactly what you have Got & what you havn't....I Strongly recommend you Downloading it.. its Free

Eddie, I have Norton Internet Security 2009 but I have NOD32, McAfee & Kaspersly at my disposal (hehe).  I doubt I will need to go to all that trouble, since I don't do any banking or anything really important on my computer.

That's unless the "Hijackthis" program is a one-off (and discretionary) scanner, then i'll be willing to give it a go...

I will never understand why people install so much anti-virus programs. Just go to the right websites and don't click on links that you don't know of.

It's better to be safe than sorry (plus I don't have to worry that much when I have Norton doing the work for me)

You know how much Norton slows down your computer though.. not worth it

1 The new one (2009) doesn't take up as much memory as previous editions
2 As I said, I have Kaspersky, NOD32 or Mcafee (all 2009) that I can switch to if I actually notice a difference

This is probably inappropriate, but whatever.
