Okk sorry for those people who "Love" Evin Agassi but he is such loser and copy cat he always copy Greek and turkish songs.... :ranting: why cant our singer have thier own music and songs :bangin:

Here is a song that Evin stole from greek songs or music :giggle:

hi Anita,

Ok, this greek song, didn't ring a bell at all. Can you tell me which song you're refering to, so i can find it and hear the similarities for myself, please? Also, you seem to be totally convinced that Evin "Alwayscopycats Greek and Turkish music. Do you have some hard evidence for that, or it was just something that you decided to throw out here...I would like to learn more about your experience in this regard, if you dont' mind?

OMG I KNOW!!!!!!!!!! Have u ever heard tani tani??? He COMPLETELY ripped that song off the turkish singer ibrahim tatlises. This guy needs to be slapped in the face.

Dude, that's not even Evin..lol...that's Yourik who lives in log angeles. He did that "tani tani" song. By the way, in case if you didn't know (which obviously you don't) taking melodies from someone else is not a new surprise. This is been going on for the past 1200 years, if not more. Have you heard "greensleeves"? then you must've heard "what child is this" which is the same melody, but it's a christmas carol. I could think of 1000 songs right now, that have been taken from other resources, there's nothing wrong with it. If you take someone else's melody, and call it your own original composition, that's a big "no no no"...Yourik never said that. He simply did that because it was a famous turkish song, and every body would recognize it.

Wait, that's the reason for the "shame on him..." not the he-sold-out-Assyrians-for-a-few-thousand-dollars reason?

i just can't believe any of you attacking a singer that has made such great music. I remember growing up in iraq if we got caught listining to his music we got in trouble. he has sung some of the most beautiful patriotic music ever, you may not like his music but for you to bash him on re-singing someone else's song is pretty bad.
I'm not sure what he said to your husband browneyes but if thats something that really offended him that much he would have said something no i man i know would allot that if he felt offended.

and spitting in someones face..what nasty person could even think like that. what are we koumaya?

ha ha ha...you said it all girl. This guy has over 400 songs. Of course, not all of them are great. But that's the case with any singer. Lots of people grew up listening to his songs. Even the least musicially talented people would probably recognize some of his hit songs in a heart beat. He's done a lot of work for assyrian music. Lots of great "original" melodies with meaningful lyrics for different occasions.

Idgaf how old this thread this, but the OP is a fool beyond all measures and I'll do my best to correct her ignorance! And it's sad that there are people following her BS, being concordant to her putrid opinion.

First, have some respect. He's an old man and he has stood up for our nation. He's not someone your age where you would write such ridiculous and frivolous crap about him. Second, and most importantly, Evin doesn't create the melodies nor even write the songs. Have you heard of composers and lyricists? Yep, they're the ones who create the melodies. So, if anything, blame them.

Lastly, since you're so naïve (at that time I hope), you would not be aware that even Ashur Bet Sargis (also a good singer btw) has melodies based on European songs. Yep, some of his melodies are akin to French, Eastern European and American pop music from the 70s. But of course, since you're Assyrian, you don't listen to Slavic or French music as much as you do with Turkish or Greek music.

He puts me to sleep thats how bad his songs are. :french: i can just :gunbandana:
Go listen to electro "zurna and dawola" synthesized music that are about mathwatheh and jwanqeh shetraneh. Guessing you like Munadhel Tomika?

Amazed at how a person can be hated so intensely for doing nothing, and where they warrant a death threat for it!? Utterly disgusting. :bann:

I find that so hard to believe. Lmao.

Yeah I know I told him u should have spit in his face, he goes I didn?t bother I just left? but yeah that was rude of him...
You had the audacity to invent a vile lie and now you say this? Shame on you.

Cant understand a word that comes outta Evin's mouth... he should retire already, let his son take over

With the alias of "Hilwa" you obviously wouldn't get what he's saying. I take it that you speak Arabic more than you speak Assyrian.

I know this is is from 2007, but god it's the most triggering thing I've ever found on this forum. I want these people to be put in their spot regardless of when they wrote it. Whether it's 1 day old or 2000 years old, I will still have my say and defend the greatest Assyrian singer of all time, especially against the unwanted and unjust smear he's gotten here. Hopefully the mods will understand my action.

Just immature little girls who dig younger, more "attractive" men and are mad that an older average looking man is more famous.

Glad that a young person like you has some sanity and coherence. At least at that time. Lol.

EDIT (something to clear out):

The OP and the concordant posters only chose like what, 4-5 "copied" songs (and I'm aware of them). When the man has made, I don't know, over 400 original songs? Lol. Yep, clearly a plagiarist. Another great musician, Linda George (whom I love to death mind you), also has a few "copied" Kurdish, Persian and Turkish songs. It happens. Western musicians do it too. It's called a COVER.

And guess what, the original artists are CREDITED on the Assyrian albums btw - Something that the OP and her theorists FAILED to see.

Again, this thread is NOT fair and is completely biased.

This thread started wrong and of course it took multiple wrong turns as usual. There's nothing wrong with reproducing the song in other languages. This happens everywhere on daily basis. That's a general statement as there are technical details. This is one thing, but not liking an Assyrian singer covering Turkish/Persian/Arabic songs is a completely different matter. I do not like Evin's Turkish songs. I like his very own material. He's got his original repertoire and there are excellent songs especially from his older albums. I can't use my own personal taste to judge a recording artist. He deserves respect. He's been around for at least 45 years, and many grew up listening and dancing to his songs. It's not like he had a record label and a team or producers with a ton of money to support his career. He did it all at his own risk. I'm sure he's got bunch of crappy songs, but who doesn't?
