If you look at the current situation for Assyrians in Iraq today to the Colonists of the American revolutionary war, we are both in similar holes. Taxation without representation, treated as foreigners, denied resources to grow as a community. The original colonists petitioned and peacefully demonstrated their opposition to some British rule (Before it got nasty with the Intolerable Acts), and Patrick Henry was the one man to convince the Virgina Convention (Congress) to declare war. Assyrians are getting no where. No one gives a shit if we petition or whine about the laws. Kurds are just picking up free land and does anyone care? No. Most of the world doesn't even know. Its time we step up

make something of yourself ... then help. one 18yr old fighting and getting killed a week later does little good compared to one 40 yr old successful man that can build businesses and buy land back there and employ assyrians as well as raise 5 sons of his own to carry on his good work.
