The captain gave us the first three points

New member
SENIOR G?ran ?Ashur? Marklund?s two goals brought us the first three points of the season. It was very close though that it was going to end with only a point if it weren?t for someone?s stomach.

Assyriska had as much as nine players injured with made the manager Rikard Norling formed a new line up against IFK Norrk?ping. The formation started a bit nervously with many simple mistakes but after a couple of minutes it started to grow up to become the confident and forceful team we use to see in S?dert?lje Arena.

The home side attacked through the wings, with the defenders Bj?rkeryd and Batan or through ?stlundh, Eris and Besara which gave the team a new dimension compared to anno 2009.  Over 3000 on the crowd witnessed someone that will become the missing link if he stays out of the already long injury list. Ceyhun Eris introduced himself in Nineveh Arena with beautiful crosses and fantastic split vision. The supporters found another favourite player from Assyriska FF.

The firs goal came when Eris found Bj?rkeryd running on the right wing where Bj?rkeyd passed his opponent and crossed it to G?ran Marklund. The captain took charge and headed it nicely on the net. Assyriska kept on attacking but weren?t able to double their lead until the start of the second half. Once again G?ran Marklund had his name on the scoring sheet after a counter attack.

After the goal, Assyriska started to relax which is not the receipt of how to win when you play against at team like Norrk?ping. The visitors started to possess more and they started to create chances. Magnus Bahne had to make one magnificent save after another and it started to become nervously among the Assyriska players. When Norrk?ping made their goal after 70th minutes, it seamed as if the players collapsed and it wouldn?t surprise us if Norrk?ping would get their equalizing goal. It was just what was about to happen on extra time when Bahne had to make another world class save that came to a Norrk?ping player and where shot the ball pass Bahne and, out of nowhere came Batan and saved it, with his stomach! A minute later, the referee blew the final whistle which was a relief that cannot be explained by words.

The next game will be played this Thursday, 22nd April at 19:00 CET on S?dert?lje Arena. If you cannot be there, you will have the possibility to watch it on C-sport via http://www.csports.se
