Hydro One dividend information

Been waiting for this for so long! Hydro One has finally released some information about its upcoming dividend payments.

For the first payment, it will be 0.34 cents, but that is, according to the website: "includes 13 cents for the post IPO fourth quarter period of November 5 through *December 31 2015, plus 21 cents for the full first quarter ending March 31, 2016"

So if you bought the shares last year and still hold them through March 17 (record date), you will get 0.34 cents per share (a cool yield of ~6%) otherwise the usual yield for the following quarters will be around 3.7% which is not bad either!

But I did read somewhere online that the company will still pay the full 6% yield to all holders, whether they bought before or after the new year. Not sure if this is correct, but if it is, would be awesome. I plan to buy the stock soon.

It is one of the biggest electricity transmission and distribution utility companies in North America and it serves the province of Ontario. It was a public company but the province (inept liberals) had to sell it to make up some money in order to pay the province's ballooning debt.
