kishmisheh (we also call them yabeesheh)  = "Raisins" Ana sanin kishmisheh (or yahbeesheh) go biryani. = I hate raisins in biryani.

We use qasra for castle.
 
"Yara" - to dare

Example:  "Leh yarekh hamsimekh basit Patriarcha, oop in awid kha mindy khilta, yan b'shadinnee khakma soorayeh"  :mrgreen:

"We don't dare talk about the Patriarch, even if he does something wrong, or some Assyrians will go crazy".

Although, I have never heard this word used in an "affirmative" sense - in other words, I have only heard it used as "not daring" to do something, not "daring" to do something.  Can someone clarify this?

There are many words for 'park': 'marge', 'charmaneh' (mostly used by Assyrians of Iran).
 
pashkash= 'present'

"bayen yawenoukh kha pashkash qa etha sora"-- I want to give you a present for christmas

b qraya- 'to study

"ana sqidlee min qaryana"-- i'm bored of studying
(is bored the correct term for sqidlee or is it annoyed?)

I think this is Persian or Turkish.

Generally speaking, if a noun does not end in an "allap" it likely is not Assyrian (although this rule is not hard and fast).  If a word ends in "gh" "j" or "sh" or "ch", it is likely Turkish, Kurdish, or Persian.

Not that I KNOW the Assyrian word for "gift"...
 
Here is an interesting list from http://www.aina.org/articles/akkadianwords.html.

I have bolded some interesting ones.  Please  note the words and how they have changed - From Akkadian to Assyrian - th eletter "b" has been replaced with "waw", although when they are spelled modern day, they retain the "beet" (like "book" = "Ktawa" is actually written Cap, Taw, Beet, Allap).  Otherwise, notice nouns end in "Allap" or "U" in Akkadian.  You can also see why Western Assyrian is more correct in pronouncing some of their words.
