Assyriska FF 2013 Season Discussion Thread

David Durmaz from SFC to AFF official.

And Stefan Batan, who has actually been rumored to make the move from AFF to SFC for a whole now, does not accept their offer and extends three years with AFF :):):)

We've had a field day on the forums today.

Assyriska FF vs Syrianska FC insults 101

AFF fans -> SFC fans

Crows (because of the flag, crow in Swedish is quite a bit more negative than the English word)
KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken)
Safrune FC (Safrune = birds in the west dialect, can be used almost the same as the English word chicken (coward))

SFC fans -> AFF fans

Cows (because of the Assyrian lamassu)
Arla FF (Arla is Sweden's biggest producer of dairy products)

Ishak played his first game for Koln recently. 2-1 win in friendly against Aachen. This is what was said about him on Koln's facebook (google translate):

"Ishak was great, very good game presence, great physique for his age. A great purchase for very little money. Has also clearly located on the Uth day made ??only one Abstaubertor."

"Jaa has already been well repays potential: D"

"How did Ishak play?

Assyriska have signed a new goalkeeper named Robin Malmkvist.

He was in the Norwegian highest division last season in a team called Tromso. Tromso finished second in the Norwegian league. He played six games in the league but also three games in the Europa league qualifications. They wanted to keep him but he wants to play more games so he left.

Another positive signing.

A derby in the highest division would be powerful and historic. Though Syrianska's pre-season thus far has been quite bad. I'm sure they'll sign a few names before the league starts but no doubt they're in some financial trouble right now.

Yeah it doesn't seem good for syrianska, we need at least 5 talented players to complete the squad but no acquisition until now... I hope, they'll make it before february otherwise, it will be superettan 2013 and maybe allsvenskan 2013 for assyriska in exchange :p

There's a team in the sixth highest division of Sweden. Their name used to be Bethnahrin IK but now they've changed to Bethnahrin Suryoye IK. Almost all of their players are Assyrian. They made the team for people who don't care/like the name conflict. A lot of their players are players that didn't completely cut it in the big teams.

The team is actually looking quite good this season. They're going harder with the name change. F.ex. they've signed ex-AFF player Gabriel Rhawi. They're in the same league as Syrianska BOIS so it's a derby when they meet.

They actually beat Syrianska BOIS in the final of a tournament (that had teams from a higher division) they played around Christmas. Their first games as Bethnahrin Suryoye and they won.

New favorite team Alex? :)

Language: English and Assyrian
In today's Assyria Sport, we met two young Assyrian players on trial for Assyriska FF, David Azin from Cologne, Germany and David Ashur al-Khury from Los Angeles, USA. Both are passionate about their Assyriska FF, despite the biting cold climate, and would love to do their best to lift the team to the highest level. We also visited the newly formed football association Assyriska Botkyrka FF. Board members Ninos Poli, Isak Betsimon and Sargon Hawsho explain why the club was founded. Other sport news in brief.

Hehe who knows :)

We have signed 22 year old David Azin (one of the two who was interviewed in the video above by Forever Assyrian).

The fans started a fund on their own to make this purchase possible.

Azin has won the Armenian premier league and cup. His dad is Assyrian and his mom is Armenian. He used to live in Germany where he was born where played with the under 21 of FC Koeln. Also has Armenian national team aspirations.

He's another midfielder. Our midfield is looking very exciting right now.

David Azin Highlights 2010/2011

1-2 more (striker and maybe a central defender) signings should end this silly season.

i loved this kid's interview man he is exactly what the team needs a passionate Assyrian who cares about the team he will lift players around him, im not saying he is the next Eddie Moussa (may he rest in peace) but this kid has big shoes to fill so far he seems like he has the right attitude lets all hope we see that on the park.
Forza AFF

Another signing.

18 year old talent striker Bachir Katourgi from Syrianska FC =)

He scored the most goals in the league (second highest in Sweden) that the SFC junior team played in last season and has also played in the Swedish national youth team.

He actually started playing in AFF when he was 9 years old.

His uncle is a player in SFC (Sharbel Touma).

First Durmaz then Bashir... Who's next, Sharbel?! Stop taking our players :p

Assyriska seems well prepared for this season, it's not really the case for syrianska, let's hope we'll get some new players before april...

SFC have bought some players lately, I believe you'll buy maybe two more. Barsom left though.

Yet another signing by AFF. 24 year old striker Admir Catovic. He played in the Swedish premier league last season (usually not from start). He has signed a contract until the summer. Good signing. I think he and the new coach are both Bosnians so he might get the most out of him.
