Raabi Ashur,

Unfortunately this petition is filled with syntax, spelling, wording and factual errors. The authour, 'Ninos624' seems to create a petition every few months. If one is doing this he should post his full name and affiliations.

We should try and be more professional politically and organisationally.
Disunited, dispersed in exile, and as dwindling minorities without full civil rights in their homelands, the Assyrians of today are in grave danger of total assimilation and extinction. In order to survive as a nation, they must now unite under the Assyrian identity of their ancestors. It is the only identity that can help them to transcend the differences between them, speak with one voice again, catch the attention of the world, and regain their place among the nations. I still don't understand why this is targeted to Obama.  He's got a bigger issue to deal with in Iraq.  If he can fix that, then we would have a safer status, like it was prior to 2003.

I think it is directed to Obama as he before elected as a president several of times asked the minister of Foreign Affairs of how their administration would handle the treatment of the Assyrians in Iraq due to their hard situation in the country.
“Their enemies had realized their national potential long before the Assyrians themselves. The enemy was not afraid of good farmers, good parents, good church-going parishioners...the enemy was afraid of Assyrians wrapped in nationhood.”

He dealt with the Assyrian issue before the presidency because of his connection to Chicago.  Plus, it earned him votes.

Still doesn't change the fact that the real decision makers are in Iraq.  Any US policy here is void and null over there.  The Pope appealing to the Iraqi government has more merit because we have made this into a religious issue.  Kind of the point I wanted to make.
