The ‘Assyrian Voice Song’ by Ramsen Sheeno is here!

April 17th, 2009

In time for Assyrian Voice’s 10th anniversary, we wanted to do something special. A surprise for our members. We thought about a song for the website, which would be the first of its kind.  We posted about this in our Community Forums, and Ramsen Sheeno was nice enough to contact us and let us know that he would volunteer to sing it. Suddenly this went from an idea to a reality. You may listen to the song below, and feel free to download it and distribute it.

The following artists helped make this project a reality, and we would like to sincerely thank them for the great job they did. :

  • The lyrics and music were written and composted by the legendary Dawood Barkho
  • The music arrangement were done by the talented Ninos Toma
  • The song was sang by the great Ramsen Sheeno

As Ramsen Sheeno was kind enough to sing this for us, free of charge, we ask that you support him, just like we ask you to support all Assyrian singers, by buying his albums and attending his parties.  You can buy them online by clicking this Assyrian Market link.

Assyrian Voice Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

April 17th, 2009

We have made it! Assyrian Voice officially celebrated its 10th anniversary on April 15.  Thank you all for helping us get here, it would never be possible without your support!

We have created a special page for this occassion, highlighting our history, accomplishments, timeline, stats, what people said about us, gatherings pictures,  and so much more.

Visit: www.AssyrianVoice.net/10years

We have had many web events going on to mark this great milestone, including the much anticipated and surprise ‘Assyrian Voice Song’ (see the next blog entry about this)

You can also visit our Community Forums  for special coverage of what our members had to say.

Thank you again, as 10 years is not a short time in the web’s short and young history.  Relatively speaking, and in web standards, we are quiet ancient now, but we are only getting started.

Please stick with us, so we can do more and more for the Assyrian nation online.  It is just not possible with your loyal support and help!

Thank you,
Assyrian Voice Team

At last Sunday’s Assyrian New Year celebrations here in Toronto, I had the pleasure and honor of being interviewed with the Assyrian Radio in London, ON.  I was interviewed by Melissa Younano, a co-host of the show with Alfred Benjamin.

The interview was about the April 1st celebrations, our website, and the role we played in it.

I would like to thank the Assyrian Radio Show in London for giving me this quick opporitunity to share my ideas and be able to let their listeners know about our website.  Mr Alfred Benjamin and Melissa Younano have been hosting this radio show, consistently, for over a decade now, and I command them on their great efforts.

Assyrian Voice 10th Anniversary Celebration at the Convention

March 9th, 2009

Celebrating our 10th anniversary in April of this year, and given the rich history of this website, we thought it is only fitting that we aim for a big celebration to mark this historical event.

Beside all the local celebrations that will take place around the world, how about a big one to culminate it all, at this year’s Assyrian convention in Chicago,IL. We have many of our members planning to go so this should make it a fun 10th anniversary gathering.

Looking back at the history of this website and all the thousands of friendships it has created, we have to do our best to be part of the celebrations. Let us show our pride of being part of this grest Assyrian community and all it has done for Assyrians.

More details to be available on our blog and home page as they become available.

Thank you,
Assyrian Voice Team
